Steve Bylenga
Steve Bylenga co-founded the firm (then “Chase & Bylenga, PLLC”) with Carol Chase in 2010. Steve primarily represents debtors and creditors in consumer and commercial matters, including bankruptcy, commercial workouts, corporate restructuring, and adversary proceedings. He also represents small and large businesses in corporate governance, commercial transactions, and civil litigation.
Steve thrives on “solving puzzles.” He enjoys working with clients to develop innovative strategies to resolve complex issues through creative negotiations or aggressive litigation. Steve has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers in the areas of Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Litigation. He is the former chairperson of the Bankruptcy Section for the Federal Bar Association of the Western District of Michigan. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Debtor’s Bar Association of West Michigan, frequently speaks at seminars, and is a former adjunct professor at Western Michigan University Law School.
Steve attended college at Miami University and earned his law degree from Marquette University. When he isn’t working, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
